🌙 Night mode

Night mode is a feature that automatically turns off the display and music at a scheduled interval of the day (e.g. 18:00-9:00). This also conserves energy.

Playback will stop and the volume set to zero. The display will remain on for 30 minutes after the start of night mode (to signal that night mode turned on) but turn off after that. Any button press after those 30 minutes will temporarily wake the display letting the user know that the SpotiStation is in night mode (and not broken).

The 🌙 Night mode display overlay will also list the time at which night mode will end. When night mode ends, music playback will still be paused.

Night mode is configured via the player.ini config file. It can completely be disabled (not recommended), and the interval can be set. This setting requires ssh access to be changed.
