Agenda

  • New topics
    • Review feature request issue template
    • Review update to dentOS issue tracker with feature request issues
    • Requested that we stop conflating dentOS development with Marvell driver development. Milestones and feature development shouldn't be so closely tied.
      • Need follow-up meeting with Marvell team (Kishore, Moti, Mickey and Taras) to discuss how to manage this development as a separate thing
    • What should the support model be for the "DENT switches"? Should we continue using out of tree support via things like ONLP?
    • There's strong established precedence for things "simply working" using in-tree support on Mellanox branded Spectrum switch hardware (ex: load FCOS on an SN2100 and it works no fuss)
    • Look at changing the base distribution of dentOS to enable more of an "upstream first" type of support model
      • fedora and gentoo are likely options here

Actions

  • Delta to provide PoE controller software specification
  • Amazon to supply PoE daemon requirements
  • Need to develop specification for 802.1x driver portion
  • Create issue with build system evaluation criteria
  • Develop vendor agnostic driver feature requirements list
  • Marvell will update Prestera Switchdev wiki with current features (Moti)
  • Create github issue in dentOS repo for support model discussion
