Pro Tip: the next time you have weird installation or low space errors on a device with an adopted microSD card, check to ensure the card hasn't died and gone into read-only mode.

The above happened to me and I wasted a lot of time uninstalling apps I wound up reinstalling after I set up the warranty replacement card anyway.

So, to cut a long story short: the SanDisk Ultra microSD Class 10 128 GB Card in my Samsung Galaxy S5 has been replaced under warranty by a SanDisk SDSQUB3-128G-GN6MA Ultra Plus microSDXC UHS-I 128 GB Card. Based on the replacement card's part number, it seems SanDisk US warranty replacement units are EMEA(/AUS/NZ?) retail units. Draw your own conclusions.

That said, it's kinda hard to complain about getting a warranty replacement for anything electronic in its EIGHTH year of life. For all the bad rap microSD cards get, SanDisk's warranty for them is the best of anything tech, even enterprise storage.
