(This project is archived, but it's still usable. It's just not going to get updates.)
Just download the release from the releases tab on the github or build from source. Once you're done, make sure to add an empty folder called "backup" in the program directory or the program will crash. Also, make a txt file called "DefaultPath.txt". Put a path in it, so the program knows where to start when opening a folder.
Download the files from the master branch. Then run these commands:
pip install oead
- This is a tool for extracting byaml files.pip install clipboard
- This is for copying stuff to the clipboard. Current builds automatically copy the rail to buffer.pip install https://github.com/pyinstaller/pyinstaller/archive/develop.tar.gz
- This is so that you can build the program (YOU NEED THE DEV BUILD - DO NOT SIMPLYpip install pyinstaller
.).pyinstaller --onefile --icon=Rails.ico --noconsole --name Rails Rails.py
- This builds the program. It will put the final file inside a folder called "dist". If you want the console to show up and give you error messages and stuff, don't type the "--noconsole" bit.
Hi! If you want to use this tool, here are some steps:
(Note: In Ice-Spear, you probably want to lay out some placeholder objects just to grab the coords from.)
-
Run the program.
-
Enter your first point into the boxes.
-
Clicking "New Point" will add a point to your rail. You can edit that point by navigating through the "Next Point" and "Previous Point" buttons.
-
Once you're all done editing the points in your rail, make sure to specify the HashId you want your rail to have (As of 1.1, you can leave this on Auto), its RailType (this is just the shape it will take), and its IsClosed value (This is just whether you want the last point to be connected to the first), as well as the path of the map folder you want to edit.
-
Click "Insert Rail", and you're pretty much all set. All you have to do now is link it to your actor in Ice-Spear. (Via the HashId)
NOTE: When the "Insert Rail" button is clicked, a backup of the original static map file is saved into the "backup" folder in Botw Rails' root directory.
NOTE #2: The dynamic file is never edited, and is just read to find the new HashId. Don't rename the dynamic or static files. My program searches for the "Static" and "Dynamic" in the names at the end. Also, make sure to have them both. They might need to be alone in whatever directory they're in, I don't quite remember.
#Important! Make sure to set the path to which you want to start at when selecting the file you want to edit. You can do this by editing DefaultPath.txt.
