Thanks for this. I was meaning to do something like this a while back but wound up not totally needing it.

Two things though...

Is it possible to flatten this down into 1 commit? Right now it looks like the same commit shows up in the history twice and then there is white space removed and then added again.
Can you write a spec for this so it doesn't get broken again in the future?
