From alpha testing, it was recommended that we incorporate a rapid card draw mechanic to lean into card-based nature.

Proposed needs some wording work

In an Epic Event, the DM shows one or more TCs. For each TC, one or more players may meet the challenge. GM and player(s) draw on TC at the same time. Either may choose to stop drawing cards. First to major success 'wins' the duel. If player, the players succeed for this TC. The players succeed if they win more TCs than the GM.

This opens up a separate question - do Modifiers allow for a Major Success? I would say no, that a Major Success is only when the exact Pip value is drawn (because otherwise a modifier of +2 makes a Major success more like a DR 2, which defeats the purpose of having a Major Success).

So the proposed below would be more effective if we go that route:

"For each TC, one of more players may meet the challenge. GM and player(s) draw on TC at the same time, at a DR 0. Either may choose to stop drawing cards. First to meet the DR 'wins' the duel."

Overall I'm not sure how this will feel at the table, with the GM putting cards on the table as TCs and then players start rapidly drawing on them. I like the pace that implies, but it could get a little chaotic especially in a virtual setting, if one player starts attempting every TC and other players don't feel like they can join/jump in. Also for the GM to manage a "duel" with 5 players at once feels like it could get messy. Let's refine this 1 or 2 more times to get to a close feel of the mechanic and then I can jump into Tabletop Simulator or on a live call with 1-2 other people and we can test it out there.

Anything that's fast paced will be tougher online. Yeah, we can workshop.

@LockerM Any updated thoughts here before I draft something for the next PR?
