  • Calender where does this live on the website.

    • can we unify the gatsby and mentor site into one thing? lose mock openings?
    • how do people submit their event to the calendar?
    • guideline to hosting a successful mentorship meeting
  • improvements to back office? (not sure of this nomenclature). The process by which we agree to work on new things. These Trello boards will be global now to the entire CC GitHub project.

    • Trello board for new ideas.
    • Trello board for PR stuff

Meeting 004

Ways to generate revenue:

  • Recommend mentors for prospective employers
  • Take on projects for the cc community to build
  • Paid pathways for students for example pay a rate for 10 hrs a month for this rate, for 20 hrs this rate, etc.

next tasks for CC's dev

  • a calendar (down and dirty) to show global fixed meetings from mentors, for example, Brown bag / ExploreJS. This was proposed to use the least difficult method to facilitate a way of members outlining their times and what they cover.

Meeting 003 Happy new year! need for this meeting?

  • agreed to keep every 2 weeks those who show up will show up
  • Bo's confusion of how the deployment cycle works, i.e. what's the purpose of /Me? why not have a live sandbox / testing server?
  • Bo's complaining about getting up to speed and normal confusion to a new project / he agreed to try to organize better.

Meeting 002

Minutes Meeting #02 - Coding Coach Dec 7th 2020 https://github.com/Coding-Coach/

We need better Analytics! Analytics We know the number of students We know the number of mentors

We don’t know the contacts and interactions between them.

Define Goals! Short term goals analytics

Medium-term goals

Long term goals Vision to get global know knowledge of CC to all programmers know about this platform The world will know about cc and reach out to contact us

Project management? Global project management? How do we know what’s planned, designed, what’s in the pipeline to get done? Github / for project management, currently it’s in 2 repositories We can have one of these repositories be the main documentation, design specs for the entire project (thanks George that wasn't obvious to me…) Where do senior people jump in and how do they help? How do things get into the working phase? What is approved? How do we know what is working currently in CC?

ACTION ITEMS?

2020 Nov 23rd

Meeting 001

Minutes - Coding Coach Nov 2020 https://github.com/Coding-Coach/

Bullets from meeting invite up for discussion: Discuss how the process of getting new features of the website going. discuss how the leadership of CC/approval process discuss the clear path of communication i.e. google docs / git hub / something else? wireframes - what app shall we use does this matter? Other stuff if we have time: code mentor has a lot of the features we are talking about... but it's for money promotion p/r advertising activity on the website - mentors vs students

Motivation why does this seem to be so low on CC?

  • lack of organized meetings?

A brief history of CC from Mosh - It started off from a Proof of concept to what it is now which has not been that long. Needs - using CC’s manpower to solve this! Architecture Front end Back end Social presence / regular publishing / marketing Written articles Video? Cross promotions with other current YouTuber / teachers Cross promotions with current schools Email blasts

Where are the usage cases between mentors and students? Perhaps this can be a survey monkey question to all 8K users?.

Do you prefer a regular weekly meeting? Zoom Google hangout Or asking and getting a response via Slack IM - which? email Other?

Establish this as a preference in the interface on CC for both mentor/students

Current bad experience on CC Students trying to reach out to mentor and don’t hear back

Establish the most needed features

determined by mentors? determined by students?

Tasks - how to deal with them Prioritizing and corresponding timeline for each task: Get out the door immediately Can use mid-tier talent Can use low / jr. devs

Our 1st Task? - Website needs tracking website / process George “need tracking on the entire process” Brent “where are people falling out of the sales funnel?”

Growing the community 2 approaches Bottom-up Can leverage 8K users! Publish Social / PR Network to other training facilities

Top-down

Defining the process Currently, we will use google docs? We will define a process to contribute on GitHub Wireframes? What app

Asking for money - money for CC? Simple questions how much do we need, current burn rate per month vs what would help CC and for what? Costs / burn rate Marketing Email blasts how many per month? What is the database currently? Facebook advertising? Other targeted banners? Hosting income for CC currently and other ideas Donation button generates how much per month? Do we share that on the site and planned burn/budgets - like Wikipedia?

Changing for revenue vs free what is our take on this?

Paid learning groups?

keeping people on board and keeping people from flying by and asking a bunch of questions and leaving.

Action Items! Please identify how many hours you can contribute per week and what you can and like to work on! Let’s send out an email and let people know about CC is alive and looking for active and dedicated people to help survey questions!

Availability please fill out!

Architecture Front end Backend Sales / Marketing / Social / Filming / Editing / etc Crysfel Villa - I wanna help with coding/leading, I can do 3-5hrs per week. Architecture Front end Backend

Nick Foden General Can host 1 standing weekly hourly session - beginner and intermediate JS, TS
Onboarding more mentors Contributing to the platform code Time: 3-4 hours per week Architecture Front end - react/css Backend - node George Mauer General Js, Python, .Net, TypeScript, software design Keep helping out in slack Time 2 hours per week Mosh Feuchtwanger General Client code base, running the project Time 5 hours per week Brent Clark Time 2-3 hours per week (including this meeting) More on some weeks, but this is what I can commit to regularly General FE and BE architecture JS, Python, Node, TypeScript, CSS, React Business stuff (e.g. process, operations, documentation, alignment, marketing) (Yes, “business stuff” is a technical term :P) Analytics

Mentee Flow Ideas:

Mentee -> sign up -> accept pledge/terms ( these are mentors volunteering few hours each week/month to help you overcome debugging challenges / learn more about a specific topic etc, they are not going to be able to teach you to code.) -> then they can manage their contract mentors in here etc.
