Feedback animation doesn't show when pausing/playing video

Expected

When clicking on a video in the search result, I expect a play (or pause) animation to appear briefly when the video starts playing (or stops).

Actual results

Video starts (or stops) as one would expect, but the animation isn't shown.

Versions affected

This works in Firefox and Chrome, but not on Edge.
