Could we override default note types (and their behavior) without forking?

These days, I am very into customizing Trilium notes.
But I wouldn't say I like some default behaviors.
The one of some is read-only code notes don't have the syntax highlighting.
I know I could write a custom widget for such features, but I'm not particularly eager.

Instead, could we override the codes of default note types?
In the current Trilium structure, it seems it would be pretty tricky to do so, though.
