Redirect issue when duplicating page or post

When a page or post is duplicated and the permalink is change for the duplicated page it's redirecting the page/post that was used for the duplicate and not redirecting the new duplicated page/post.

Is there a setting I need to adjust for this?

I'm very comfortable working with php and plugins, so if this is something that needs to be fixed and you can point me in the right direction I can get it fixed. I'm just not sure what file I should look in to start to troubleshoot this.
