Unable to play podcasts #557
Comments
does the issue persist if you delete and readd the podcast? |
Hi @sentriz,
Yes, I received the same result. After poking around, I was able to play episodes only after I pressed Can Gonic be configured when it should start downloading podcasts? |
@dillinger could you post the results of |
99% Invisible (current state, after I push download-all button)
Elm radio (freshly added podcast with no files in folder)RSS feed: https://elm-radio.com/feed.xml
I think I understand the situation now. When I added a new podcast, it was set to no auto download, which is why there were no files in the podcast folder. Even after I changed the podcast setting to download latest, no files appeared because Gonic was waiting for a new episode to be published before downloading anything. It wasn't until I switched to "download all" that Gonic started fetching the podcasts, allowing me to play them. It would be helpful to have an additional option to download the last 10 or 20 podcast episodes instead of having to wait for a new one. |
gonic version: v0.16.4
docker tag: sentriz/gonic:latest
Hello,
Podcast episodes are not downloading properly when adding new podcasts to Gonic. While some podcasts work correctly and show MP3 files in their folders, newly added podcasts' episodes are not being downloaded or stored in their respective folders. As result when accessing through Amperfy OSX client, affected podcasts display a crossed circle icon instead of the play button, with the text "Server syncing".

Please help me understand what I'm doing wrong with podcasts or how I can debug Gonic to understand what is going on.
Thank you!
