The current website shows all information which is provided by the backend, some of which might not be interesting or to detailed for the website: http://explorer.raiden.network

In this issue I'd like to collect feedback about what people think is important and what not.

Most important information from my perspective:

The other information is nice to have.

Great Network Explorer! I like the clean design and that you can see everything at the first view
Specific feedback:

  • Maybe you could add a measure that shows how balanced the network is
    • Edit (paul): Not possible to do without balance proofs.
  • Maybe you could add a measure for connectivity in the network Add a measure for connectivity in the network #68
  • Maybe you could add links to the participants with the most open channels, such that people could connect with them
  • I would not show different token networks at the beginning, since there will be only one, right?
  • I would not show closed and settled channels Do not display closed and settled channels on graph #69

Survey feedback

General feedback

  • In my opinion we should integrate this with the raiden.network webpage so that when we click on the learn more about Raiden we don't have an extra tab on the browser. Another thing that would be nice is to add some animations on the Channel overview section.
  • Knowing what nodes are online would be useful for new people testing, but I'm not sure if this is easy to achieve. (Show node status #74)
  • I like it a lot! Especially the visualization :) Maybe one could bring the visualization more in the focus of attention by moving it up. Having the order like this: (Update design #90)
    1. The blue stuff (# of token networks etc.)
    2. Visualization of each network (with arrows to switch from network to network)
    3. Additional stats for each network (also with arrows just like it is now)
  • Letters aren't too good to read (too small/ lines are a little bit too close to each other) --> it is not very "Übersichtlich" (Update design #90)
  • I'd put the "learn more" buttons at a not so prominent place, maybe header or footer (Update design #90)
  • Surprisingly, it took me a while to realise one can change the displayed token. But maybe selecting the token from a list would make more sense (Update design #90)
  • Would also make sense to look up channels for a specific address (i.e. I just opened a channel and want to see if it's there) (Lookup nodes & channels #94)
  • I don't think the doughnut thing for open/closed/settled channels makes a lot of sense, because closed and settled will grow with time, but opened should stay constant. (Update design #90)
  • "Unique users" is misleading, should probably be something like "Unique accounts"? (Reword from "unique users" to "unique accounts" #93)

  • Tooltips take too long to open. The graph could feel more 'interactive', maybe apply the highlighting on hover already, also maybe give the edges tooltips.
  • It would be really cool if once we click/hover a/over channel it will get bigger and we could have a popup on the right side of the node showing us the total deposit of that channel,. and the other details. I don't like that in the current version I have to hover over it and wait till I get the information. In my opinion it would be great for the user experience to have those.
  • When a node is clicked, other than "highlighting" the channels we should also display those channels in a list with other information such as balance? to make the visualization a bit more useful. (Add more channel infos to visualization popup #91)
  • Another feature that's very useful but could be planned for the future is to be able to specify that i wanted to transfer from node A to node B by clicking on them and the path would be highlighted to show how raiden decides to route the transfer through mediators.
  • I would separate the visualization for each network from each other. Just like in the overview of stats above (with arrows) (Separate visualization for each network. #87).
  • "show all channels" slider didn't work (or I don't understand what it's supposed to do)
