Hi, for me it is essential to be able to build websites in an offline environment, I would very much like to keep this feature. 😕
Would it be possible to find a way to keep this offline mode? For example, we could embed BS assets in the release files, that would then be optionally updated. Or cleaner, provide environment variables such as BS_RESOURCE_PATH that, if set, do not fetch the BS resources and use the provided BS libs.
I think the latter is a particularly common fix for offline environments!
Thank you 😊

I have the same situation as @camillemndn and would vote for keeping the pkgdown.internet option (with the option to point to local BS libs).

Unfortunately that's not something we've ever supported, and would be a substantial amount of work to implement. This issue about eliminating the confusing pkgdown.internet option which currently doesn't do anything.

OK, thanks for the insight. My current workaround is to use an older version of pkgdown. Version 2.0.9 is still working for me without an internet connection.

PS. Thanks for the package! I really love pkgdown :)
