What is the problem?

I can't get past the 'qBittorrent has crashed' dialog. I have rebooted. I tried to install 5.03. Everytime I restart qBit, the 'qBittorrent has crashed' dialog appears again. The 'Loading torrents' mini-dialog gets to 100% and stops there. The main qBit screen appears sometimes. If any qBit dialog gets focus (e.g. 'qBittorrent has crashed' or 'Loading torrents' qbit crashes again -- everything closes. Weirdly, the dialog asking 'Do you want to upgrade to 5.03?' shows qBit's uploading and downloading speed, ONLY when I hover over it from the Taskbar. WHOA, I just noticed that SELECTING the 'Do you want to upgrade to 5.03?' dialog shows the MAIN qBit screen. And then qBit crashes again, all three screens closed: 'qBittorrent has crashed' dialog, 'Do you want to upgrade...' and the main qBit screen. I have tried to fix it by editing qbittorrent.ini in 'C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming\qBittorrent', changing [TransferList] to [OLD TransferList] and [GUI] to [OLD GUI]. That made me lose my custom columns on the main qBit screen and the problem seemed fixed esp. the main window opened. I was able to add my usual columns and rearrange them. But after 10 minutes or so it reoccurred, all windows closing. Since that one time, I haven't been able to keep the main window open for more than a few seconds. It seems like that window getting focus might cause the crash.

While qBit is loading torrents and getting ready to display the main window, the 'Do you want to upgrade...' prompt is not responsive: clicking [Yes] or [No] has no effect.

The main window WILL open.

Here I was lucky enough to get a screenshot of the main qBit window. A second or two later, all three windows closed. I think the event leading to the close might be the main window getting focus.

It was named 'qbittorrent.log.bak656'. It has the date 2025-01-07, January 7, which is probably the date that this crashing problem started. I had to move it from 'C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\qBittorrent\logs' and rename it 'qbittorrent.log' to get this dialog to accept it. This is the last entry in that log file:
