qBittorrent & operating system versions

qBittorrent: 4.6.5 x64
Operating System; Windows 11 x64 (23H2) 22631.4602
Qt: I don't know what this is/where to find it
libtorrent-rasterbar: I don't know what this is/where to find it

What is the problem?

qBit informs me there is an update available. When I try to update, it gives me an error and refuses to allow me to finish the update.
qbit error

Steps to reproduce

  1. Download new update via qBit website or Fosshub
  2. Run install launcher (launcher will tell you that old version will be uninistalled but you will not lose any of your files)
  3. Attempt to install new update
  4. You will now get a popup saying "qBit is running" and that it cannot update without first closing the (already closed) application.
  5. Attempting to close qbit client in task manager closes the installer.

Additional context

No response

Log(s) & preferences file(s)

No "preference file" in local or roaming AppData

  1. Attempting to close qbit client in task manager closes the installer.

So close it again or what you're closing is not the client...

Instead of messing with the task manager, just restart the PC, I guess.
