Background

We realized while investigating honeybadger ArgumentError messsages that lockers-and-study-spaces-staging is reachable without being on VPN.

Impact

This is a potential security issue: the backtraces in honeybadger makes us think these are hacking attempts, e.g. "No route matches [GET] \"/.env\"" or "params":{"0x":["androxgh0st"]}.

To reproduce

  1. Make sure you are NOT on VPN
  2. Go to https://lockers-and-study-spaces-staging.princeton.edu/
  3. It will come up, but it shouldn't
