retire migrated researchdata web service

We need to retire the web service researchdata which has been successfully migrated to a hosted solution. This involves shutting down the virtual machines that previously hosted the application and removing the associated Nginx Plus load balancer configuration.

Background:

The researchdata web service has been migrated to an OIT hosted solution on on 12/31/2024.
The application previously ran on the following virtual machines:

remove from inventory

Shut Down Virtual Machines:

• [prds-prod1] ([128.112.201.131])
• [prds-prod2] ([128.112.202.8])
• [prds-staging1] ([128.112.201.174])
• [prds-staging2] ([128.112.203.122])

Remove Loadbalancer Configs:

• Nginx Plus load balancer [researchdata] (https://github.com/pulibrary/princeton_ansible/blob/main/roles/nginxplus/files/conf/http/researchdata_prod.conf) handled traffic routing for the service.
• Nginx Plus load balancer [researchdata-staging] (https://github.com/pulibrary/princeton_ansible/blob/main/roles/nginxplus/files/conf/http/researchdata_staging.conf) handled traffic routing for the service.

Remove Firewall Configs:

• [prds-prod1] ([128.112.201.131])
• [prds-prod2] ([128.112.202.8])
• [prds-staging1] ([128.112.201.174])
• [prds-staging2] ([128.112.203.122])

Action Taken:
VM's powered down as part of the 30 days disconnection process.

VMs will be deleted from disk as part of the next step in the decommissioning process.
