Once #1042 lands, users will able to select all possible channel types, even ones associated to channels that they do not have access to. It would be less confusing if users only saw the relevant channel types.

And we should add msg-ing about how to get / show more channels, right?
Is that just via Configure channels > Big + sign?

@SteveBarnett +1 on telling people how to get more. It depends on how we do this though. If we look at channels that the user has permissions to add, but has not yet added, then it would be a matter of them getting permissions to use a channel. If we look at channels that the user has added, then it would be matter of them adding the channel (big + sign).

Not too sure if the first one is possible, will need to figure that out first. Not sure which one would be less confusing or surprising to people though.

Ah, also, if it is a matter of people obtaining permissions, then that's something that users aren't able to do via the UI. Maybe they should be able to ask for permissions? That sounds like a rabbit hole though, can't think of an easy way for that to be possible.

Let's leave it for now, and think about this as part of the bigger picture (Ben's hackpad, my upcoming plan thing)? We can chat about permissions and adding channels and how it all ties together.
