I've noticed that OpenStreetMap seems to be missing a lot of speed limits. This made me wonder if there might be a way for you to add the functionality to Velociraptor to edit speed limits on the fly. For example, if Velociraptor doesn't know what a speed limit is in an area, and I see a speed limit sign telling me what it is, then it seems like I should have the ability to long tap on the empty speed limit sign in Velociraptor and have my current speed (or some such thing) added to the information on OpenStreetMap for that location. Obviously, this would require the user providing the app with their OpenStreetMap login credentials, but it seems like such a thing should be doable.

I thought exactly the same thing. That would be so cool. Hopefully someone will add the feature.

You could use StreetComplete for quick edits. There is a quest for speed limits. However, tagging speed limits is currently disabled for the US.
