How to Connect to Jamulus and Abide by Golden Rule #3461
-
My setup to connect to Jamulus is the FocusRite Scarlett 4i4, with a Juno-X keyboard. I have not found any hardware setup that lets me hear my signal while complying with the Jamulus "Golden Rule" (JGR). When my headphones are plugged into the Scarlett headphone jack, I hear my Juno-X whether I am connected to a server or not. Likewise, if I plug the headphones into the line outputs on the back of the Scarlett, I still hear the Juno-X whether or not I am connected to a Jamulus server. When I plug my headphones into the computer headphone jack, I cannot hear anything. (I think that this is because the Juno-X and FocusRite drivers are re-routing the sound output.) Any YouTube or other sound content from the computer can only be heard when plugged in to either the Juno-X headphone jack or the FocusRite jack. Does anyone have any guidance on how to connect my headphones to my setup and successfully comply with the JGR? |

Your Scarlett includes software that allows you to control signal routing. You need to use that software to disable "direct/local" routing, so that plugging your headphones into Line Out on the Scarlett only gives you sound when connected to a Jamulus server. |
