Create Recordings with ONVIF #661

Hello Axis Friends,

I'd like to create a feature to create a new recording that will be saved on the camera's SD card and take as its name the date on which the recording was started.
But I'm a bit lost with all the ONVIF requests in the documentation, so here's a list of all the ones I could find : SetRecordingConfiguration, SetRecordingJobConfiguration, SetRecordingJobMode, CreateRecordingJob, DeleteRecordingJob, GetRecordingConfiguration, GetRecordingJobConfiguration, GetRecordingJobs, GetRecordings and GetRecordingOptions.
I don't know which ones to use and in what order. And above all, which arguments to use.
Could someone with more experience help me find a good solution?

@vivekatoffice What is the WSDL API used to fetch the URI shown in step 5?
I expected it to come from the GetReplayUri but what I get from the GetReplayUri API is different, namely rtsp://10.1.140.43/onvif-media/record/play.amp?onvifreplayid=SD_DISK_20240703_080946_31D4BA0E&onvifreplayext=1&streamtype=unicast&session_timeout=30
Note the /onvif-media/record/play.amp instead of /onvif-media/media.amp

I agree with you that the GetReplayUri is the correct way to proceed here. You should use this as it will work with all ONVIF cameras 😉

After getting an URI from GetReplayUriResponse the ffprobe <URI> returns [rtsp @ 0x55a2b8feb0] method DESCRIBE failed: 401 Unauthorized. Any suggestions on what can the issue be?

You need to authenticate the RTSP request, with the username/password used by the camera.

@fserafini you mean rtsp://user:password@ip... ? I got a 400 Bad Request, but will review the creds.
