This automatically generated reply acts as a friendly reminder. Answers to your questions will most often come from the community, from developers like yourself. You will, from time to time, find that Axis employees answers some of the questions, but this is not a guarantee. Think of the discussion forum as a complement to other support channels, not a replacement to any of them. If your question remains unanswered for a period of time, please revisit it to see whether it can be improved by following the guidelines listed in Axis support guidelines. |

if you want to playback with different resolution, most time it meas you have to record all these streams, that will use more storage. Another way is to do server side resolution convertion, but it can only change from high resolution to low, also it takes more CPU of the server. |

Currently, the Axis Camera Station App allows for (3) different streams in "live viewing". This is located under the "Change quality profile" with selections of High/Medium/Low. Users can live stream with "low" when they have limited cellular connectivity and conversely "High" for when they are connected to a strong, robust wireless network.
Unfortunately, when switching to playback archives, users aren't afforded with these options and are railroaded into what I presume to be the 'Mainstream". Users who aren't on strong networks often experience an app crash.
It may be recommended for users to reduce their resolution, apply more compression, reduce frame rate or quality however this is not necessarily the answer.
App users should be able to select the same Low/Medium/High streaming profiles as they are able to do in live view. This feature would reduce app crashes and allow users to stream playback similar to YouTube.
Thank you!
