It would be great to catch up on this to determine next steps. If I can help @jmakowski1123 let me know!

A workaround to use the markdown editor is editing the waffle_flag new_core_editors.use_new_problem_editor.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to {DOMAIN}/admin/waffle/flag/ (e.g., http://local.edly.io:8000/admin/waffle/flag/)
  2. Find new_core_editors.use_new_problem_editor element and edit or delete it.
  3. You should be able to see the legacy problem editor.

Note: I tested that in Redwood.

I know the idea is to add the Markdown editor option to the Course Authoring MFE to expand its capabilities, but knowing the code is there (at least in the edx-platform) may help.
