A multipolar enteric glial cell located in the lamina propria of the intestinal mucosa. This cell typically has four major processes and is positioned in close proximity to the intestinal epithelium. This cell plays important roles in maintaining gut barrier function, regulating intestinal homeostasis, and mediating interactions between the enteric nervous system and the immune system.
