All records within the nubis platform are automatically generated in Route53. The corresponding entries in inventory are not created automatically. We believe that this is the correct approach for several reasons. The primary reason is that there are no fine grained access controls on inventory that would allow us to grant developers permission to update particular sub domains only. Inventory permissions allow not only full access to mozilla held domains, but also allow card blanch access to add domains. For this reason we intend to leave final dns mapping to remain a manual process. If this needs to be documented we can certainly do that.
