This workshop's going to be amazing!! Here's what we need to do!

A few months out:

  • Find a venue and sponsor for the workshop. Sponsoring the workshop costs between $400 and $900, depending on the size of the workshop.
  • Find two co-organizers. It's a lot of work, but always a lot of fun. No experience is necessary; checkout the workshop cookbook if it's new to you. (Also, we match up first time organizers with mentors.)

Leave a comment below if you're able to host, sponsor or organize! 😸

Once we have a a venue, sponsors, and organizers, we can:

  • Work together to set an RSVP limit that works for everyone
  • Post the workshop to Bridge Troll
  • Post the workshop to appropriate Meetup group(s) for publicity

One to two weeks out, we can:

  • Plan a teacher training
  • Order breakfast
  • Order lunch
  • Find a good place for the afterparty

After the workshop, we can:

  • Party! 🎉
  • Retro
  • Post-workshop survey

🌷

  • I'm going to be a co-organizer, and will be looking for a partner.
  • I've also got some sponsorship for food, etc.from Message Systems. (Need to confirm exact amount to determine if another sponsor is needed.)
  • Location will likely be at Betamore. (Need to confirm this, as well as dates and times.)

@judytuna is there already a set curriculum, or is this something we'll need to put together?

Hey @AimeeKnight! I just tweeted at you too, but thought I'd drop it here so everyone can see. @Yonet has these teaching materials: https://github.com/search?q=user%3AYonet+angular that we have thoughts of adapting for the first SF ng-bridge. Will you take a look at her repos and see if it could make a suitable starting point for you, too? And you're on the organizers team so if you start collecting/adapting/creating resources, feel free to make new repos! Goal: eventually build up to something like http://curriculum.railsbridge.org/docs/ for ng-bridge that anybody can add to and teach from.

Hi @AimeeKnight, let me know if any of the links doesn't work or if you need help with any of the slides.

@judytuna, @Yonet, sounds good. I'll look through everything this weekend and post back. Thanks so much!

@judytuna @Yonet This looks like a good starting point for an non-intro level curriculum. I've cloned your repo, and may tweak things a bit depending on the target audience. As time allows, I may also see about incorporating some of the content into the RailsBridge curriculum. I see they have a React track, so it might be neat to incorporate some of that as a comparison. Again, I'll post back here as I make progress and have more details. Thank you guys so much!
