Transparent default color does not work in Chrome #2

I have a Default Color field where I've left empty the default color option.
In Safari, when I click the "set to default" button the color gets set to transparent. This is the expected, correct behavior.
In Chrome 37.0.2062.120 clicking "set to default" does not remove a previously set color. It is not possible to set the color to transparent.
