Would the primary motivation be convenience for folks who already have the GH permissions (=repo write), or is the motivation to extend that capability to some people who do not have that GH permission? |
Good question. In our case, only a single contributor has this GH rights. So I would assume The primary benefit is for

It would be nice to have a command to pin an issue
This is quite useful for cases when the repository has an initiative or a breaking change for example.
Could be only available to maintainers.
Something like
/pin-issue
Example issue kubernetes-sigs/external-dns#4347
I have not found anything similar in the available commands list.
