Hi there!
First time poster but long-time user of the Greaseweazle V4 device.
I've primarily got this device to recover data from the mountains of 1.44M 3.5-inch floppy disks I have laying around. Some of which have bad sectors and can’t be read properly or at all by Windows. Most should contain picture files that have been shot on a Sony Mavica camera.
The flux data of all my floppies have been fully read already and I’ve followed a tutorial at some point to use HxCFloppyEmulator to read the flux data and pack it into a standard IMG-file which can be read by software to recover the files that were on the floppies.
However, I’m looking to recover files like JPGs that are within these image files. Some of these files are corrupted because of bad sectors. The only software that I know of that can recover known image, music and video files is “dragon UnPACKer 5”. This software (in HyperRipper mode) can scan any file and find known file types. This software is however designed to find files inside game files and is not being updated as far as I know.
Is there any other software or any better way that can be used to recover usable files from the flux data of the floppies?
Command used to read Flux data from the disks:
gw.exe read --retries=10 --revs=8 "C:\Users\User\Downloads\recover\no1.scp"
Thanks in advance for any help or ideas!
