Does anyone have experience with FlassFloppy and the Advent TurboRom? I have a Kaypro 2X which has worked well with FlashFloppy emulation. I changed to the TurboRom in hopes of increasing storage size to 800k, FlashFloppy emulates the expected KayPro formats (SSDD, DSDD) as well as the TurboRom 48 TPI 400k disk using raw image files and IMG.cfg entries. The 800k (96 TPI) entry should work but the KayPro does not recognize the drive as 96 TPI, Software continues to see the disk as 48 TPI. I imagine there is a needed FF.cfg setting, but have not stumbled across it. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Works: Should Work: |

FlashFloppy works flawlessly! The Advent TurboRom requires a Personality/Decoder board to enable 96 TPI functionality. Once the board is installed, the drive images are recognized. For 400k floppy images to be readable with 96 TPI drives, step = 2 needs to be added to the cfg listing. To distinguish TurboRom image files, use the [tr::409600] or [tr::819200] headers for the image files (eg 400k_image.tr.img). |
