Webhook or plugin support whould be nice, that person could develop a kind of bridge.

This definitely still applies and would love to see this integration. I think direct integration would be great (Rather than a simple webhook) as that would allow for two-direction communication (i.e. similar to "slash" commands in the slack integration), where as just an outbound webhook, while useful, would not be as quite a "first class" experience.

You might be able to connect to Matrix via this approach. Let us know if you try and how it goes!
