Sometimes the same vulnerability can appear under different names. Currently, we try to find the CVE ID of it, where possible and just use that discarding the other identifiers found. It sounds like a good idea to store aliasing information in the statements.
The proposed solution is to add a Set<String> aliases to the Vulnerability Object definition.
