The ability to use a map to draw a navPlace bounds, or location, is fantastic. Thank you for implementing this. I'm going to highlight it in my talk at the iiif Showcase, this week at Getty.

navPlace can also be a referenced feature Collection (https://preview.iiif.io/api/navplace_extension/api/extension/navplace/#21-navplace-property) and there are a number of sources for this, including Who's on First (WoF) https://github.com/whosonfirst/go-whosonfirst-browser#iiif-navplace

It would be quite useful to have a way to toggle between a text box for a referenced featureCollection, and the map.

Ah that's good to know, thanks, I didn't realise they could be external. Am I right in thinking that it would be either a reference OR an inline feature collection? So you couldn't have more than one

It's either or, and there can only be one navPlace element. It IS possible to have multiple geometries and geometry types in the geojson.
