At the moment, http-horse runs exclusively on macOS.
The file system monitoring that http-horse does on macOS makes use of the FSEvents API in macOS via the fsevent Rust crate.

Once http-horse matures, I would like to also support:
Linux, via for example inotify (or via fanotify?)
FreeBSD, via kqueue
