File Module support for webp images

Hi,
Currently the module does not seem to work with webp images.
The file extension ist set via [GFX][imagefile_ext] = 'gif,jpg,jpeg,tif,tiff,bmp,pcx,tga,png,pdf,ai,svg,webp,avif' but it seems like it doesnt respect this setting.
Is there a way to make it work?

I use TYPO3 12 with version 8.2.1

Hey, please take a look in the extension configuration. There is webp excluded per default.
