Short (verb) role editor in German locales #162

I think that's right as is. Herausgeber is a noun, herausgegeben an
adjective.

There is a slight discrepancy between the short role and the short verb
role term for editors in the German locales. Short role is "Hrsg.", but
short verb role is "hg. von". Should this not be harmonized, i.e. either
"Hg." and "hg. von" or "Hrsg." and "hrsg. von"? As far as I can tell,
"Hrsg."/"Hg." and "hrsg. von"/"hg. von" are equally common.

That's not my point. Why is "Herausgeber" abbreviated "Hrsg." when "herausgegeben" is abbreviated "hg." (and not, respectively, "hrsg.")? |
Put differently: Why is the short form for "herausgegeben von" "hg. von" (and not "hrsg. von"), when the short form for "Herausgeber" is "Hrsg."? |
That's an old issue but I agree with @tillheilmann on this one. I think we should change it like he proposes. (I don't think that hrsg. => Herausgeber and hg. => herausgegeben, there are actually both possible Hrsg. => Herausgaber, hrsg. v. => herausgegeben von / Hg. => Herausgeber, hg. v. => herausgegeben von) |
