24/7 substream recording

I asked this question about 3 years or so ago and couldnt find any information if it was implemented as a few threads had it as a request.

basically I want to record the lowdef substream 24/7 but motion events recorded in the highdef stream.

currently my config has 12 camera's ( 6 physical camera's)
6x for motion detection recording
6x 24/7 lowdef recording

would there be a better way of handling this?

appreciate all the hard work that goes into Frigate it's awesome.

Does the preview feature in 0.14 not fit your needs for that? Would be great to better understand what exactly you're looking for

I asked this a few years back and blake said the feature wasnt implemented but it was on the requested features list.

Basically,
The substream(640x480) will be recorded 24/7 non stop.
The Hidef stream(4k) will only record motion events, such as when a car comes up the driveway.

the preview doesnt record 24/7 does it?

ugh cant get the code feature to format the code and such...trying..

Previews will be saved for an entire hour that any recordings are kept. The ability for 24/7 without full res recording is not implemented. There is a pinned feature request.
