@ejeschke , please ping interested parties here.

Is this the correct link to Japanese observatories archive? https://www.nao.ac.jp/en/research/project/adc.html

Thank you!

I think the two sites that might be of the most relevance are SMOKA and the JVO.

The JVO should just be a VO node, right?

SMOKA might be worth interfacing with, but at a quick look, it doesn't have search at all - just a series of nested links to indexes. I actually like the idea of building a command-line search interface to that, but it would be.... atypical.

In any case, is there anyone interested in implementing these interfaces? If not, we can just leave this open, but with low expectation of completion.

(another Japanese observatory I'd like to see an archive interface to is Nobeyama, but I don't see a clear 'archive' there either)

I'm happy to keep these new module requests open, but with the clear understanding that implementations and support are expected to come from the archive's side (or from the wider community), it's very very unlikely that the astroquery maintainers will have any capacity to add these besides guiding and reviewing code.

Can you leave it open a while? I think there is a chance someone from our telescope (Subaru) may have a chance to do something. Unfortunately, I cannot provide any time frame.

We can leave it open indefinite time until it happens, we have similar open for a decade now. My comment above was more like that any such feature request needs a champion, too.
