Pitch: what problem are you trying to solve?

Creating rules for payees is tedious. To simply add an category rule the user must issue six clicks for each payee and apply the rule. In addition, the checkbox icons are small and difficult to click. The 'Apply Rules' button feels redundant.

Describe your ideal solution to this problem

  1. Allow users to bulk create rules. From the Payee tab, user should be able to select multiple payees and apply categorization upon them. This would create (or apply/create condition) for each payee
  2. Either remove the 'Apply Action' button and have the action apply automatically to checked transactions when saved, or have transactions marked by default.
  3. Allow the user to create a rule directly from the transactions tab when categorizing a transaction
  4. Make the checkbox icon bigger

If bulk edit is implemented, mention it in the on-boarding section

This repository uses lodash style issue management for enhancements. That means enhancement issues are automatically closed. This doesn’t mean we don’t accept feature requests, though! We will consider implementing ones that receive many upvotes, and we welcome contributions for any feature requests marked as needing votes (just post a comment first so we can help you make a successful contribution).

The enhancement backlog can be found here: https://github.com/actualbudget/actual/issues?q=label%3A%22needs+votes%22+sort%3Areactions-%2B1-desc+
