In proposal discussions, replies to a comment show below the old comment, but new comments show above (on top of the comment display). Consequentially it's very confusing to figure out the temporal order of messages, and it's difficult to find the latest comments. See here for example: https://grants.zfnd.org/proposals/1852280974
I suggest switching the sort order to oldest-first.

Sort order for comments would definitely be a nice feature to add in the future. I think people prefer different defaults, and we could also include most-activity sort, which may be another useful sort.
I'm all in favor of letting user choose, but if you have to pick one, it really ought to be oldest-first, for consistency with the placement of replies (as explained above). Every decent discussion platform I can think of uses oldest-first ordering by default, for similar reasons.
