are you able to confirm or deny if this same issue happens with MacOS versions before 15.2? hard to imagine this was broken for a year+ without any bug reports, so if you can't, it's safe to assume it's likely a breakage from 15.2, since it was released less than a month ago

I haven't tried prior to 15.2, but I I can test it, let me know which versions are you interested in.

When one finds out miserable support for GLs on macOS it might be huge gaming turn-off for curious minds. I just really like to play Doom in quick breaks from work and right now I've got macOS setup, hence I am determined to help.

PS.
For some reason OpenGL performs much better than Vulkan (10-15% fps difference). I tested in on Project Brutality + texture pack. If it will grab your interest I can create simple sorted table of specific settings that are making most performance drop impact.

if you can, the first version of MacOS 15, and the last version of MacOS 14 (and maybe 15.1.1 too), to know if it broke with 15, with 15.2 or if it was already broken for older MacOS releases and just nobody reported

yeah, opengl runs natively i think, while vulkan is emulated on top of metal using moltenvk
