How to Display Matching Category Links on Results Page?

Hello,
New to ElasticSuite - A huge improvement over base Magento search.

My site is B2B and has many categories with lots of (discontinued) product information in the category descriptions - but no products for direct online purchase.

Category links show in AJAX search suggestions but not on results page.

E.G. user searches for "cotton"
Category "Shirts" description includes "cotton shirts"
Category "Candy" description includes "cotton candy"
I need search results page to show links to "Shirts" and "Candy" categories before/after any matching products.

Seems like a simple thing but I am a firmware engineer not a full stack developer.

I tried the ElasticSuite CMS Pages plugin, but category descriptions apparently aren't "CMS Pages"

Is there a feasible way to accomplish this? An option I'm missing? Anyone able to point my in the right direction?

Can I do this with templating or do I need to create a module?

ElasticSuite (CMS Pages) seems to be a good starting point.

Greatly appreciate any insight before I deep dive in the module code.
