Matthew suggests, "when pico-engine is deployed in a production setting it should be spawned by a process manager that will automatically re-start it if it dies. i.e. systemd or docker" and I don't think we have done that. We are using forever which just keeps it running when the person who starts it logs out of their shell, but doesn't restart it when the server restarts.
