Summary of the Project

This project identifies factors that contribute to low expected life expectancy by constructing multiple linear or non-linear models. The dataset they are using is provided by the WHO that contains factors that might influence the expected life expectancy from 193 countries from 2000 to 2015. The objective of the project is to provide suggestions to a specific country on which areas it should focus on to increase the life expectancy of its population.

Things I Like about the Proposal

First of all, the dataset is of high quality in that it comes from WHO and it is comprehensive in both time and space. Secondly, the proposal explains the practical significance of the project very well. Lastly, it is attempting to address the problem by constructing multiple models.

Three Areas for Improvement

  1. There are three questions to answer. Might be too much work.
  2. The project is going to construct linear and non-linear models for regression tasks. But none of the questions the project wants to answer is related with a numerical outcome.
  3. Using regression models cannot provide answers to the third question.
