Files should be staged alongside other resolutions. On hercules, for example,

/work/noaa/global/glopara/fix/mom6/20240416/900

Once in place, ufs-utils/cpld_gridgen will be used to generate the associated grid files for CICE and the mapped ocean mask required for generating the ATM ICs. This may require one or more additional ocean_mask subdirectories w/in the oro fix data, eg

 orog/20240917/C96/ocean_mask/900/

Yes, you're right. Once I run cpld_gridgen, I will also generate the post weights (in subdir post/mx900).

FYI, I'm not sure of which low-res ATM will be used. I think George has looked at C12, C18 and C24. But the mapped ocean masks from cpld_gridgen are needed to generate the oro fix files for any of those.

I just need them on one machine. I would love if these were on Hera instead of MSU, as it is easier to go out from Hera than in for technical reasons.

@KateFriedman-NOAA Short answer, is that right now what we've added is the fix files for just the OCN to generate 9deg files, but additional fix files will be needed for ICE and ATM.

It's a bit up-in-the air right now since we're finalizing which ATM resolution will be needed/desired (C24,C12) etc. Once that is known, I can generate the additional files needed (such as mapped ocean mask and the ICE grid files).
