Documentation is not fully updated to reflect the new frontend so I could not verify if this is actual inteded behaviour or not.
Since the CIPP rework, BPA reports are experiencing several issues:
Can not add multiple frontend cards while in Table layout mode - button missing
Adding frontend cards in Block mode can not be configured properly
Report does not remember which fields from the API response should be saves
Reports are not populated with data
Can not force refresh data anymore
Layout Mode row height is not adjusted properly
New BPA report - table mode lacks the "Add frontend card" button:
New BPA report - block mode additional frontend cards do not display all options:
New/existing BPA report - entered fields are not remembered after saving the report and reopening.
No Data after creating a new BPA report:

You cant add cards to a table layout, that's why it's a table layout. It's a single table with information. If you want multiple tables, it's a card layout with multiple table cards.
I explained the issue poorly using wrong terminology - our goal is to get a single table view with multiple columns (data fields). I thought a "frontend card" meant the same as a column. Say we take this already existing best practice report with multiple columns:
if I then edit that report, I can only edit the first column. There used to be a button to add more fields/columns to the same table. Has this changed since the rework - can you no longer add multiple columns per table? Furtheremore the ExtractedFields section was not saved properly.
