4 digit pin for security mode not allowed with wrong error message

Volla22, VollaOS with October and November updates

When I try to enable the security mode, I am asked to set a password.
When I try a four digit number or password, I get the following error message: "Password needs at least four characters or numbers". This message is wrong, because I did use 4 numbers or characters.

Strangely some other users can NOT reproduce this, and can set even 1 or 2 digit pins as reported in the telegram group this evening without getting this error message.

Yes, really strange.
I do not get the message at all. I can enter any length of password.
Also strange: on my device, although the language is set to german just like above, the password dialog is completly in english.

After clearing the cache of the "safety mode settings" (Sicherheitsmodus Einstellungen) app, the behaviour is different. I get the error message "wrong password confirmation". I did use 1234 for testing purposes only, so I am quite sure I got that right 😏 .

When trying this for a second time, I got again the English language message as posted initially.

Also I did try 2 and 3 digit passwords and got the same error message, that the number must be 4 or more.

For the rcord in case it matters, we are using Volla launcher.

I just tested VollaLauncher.
The bug is 100% VollaLauncher specific.
If you use the quick settings tile for switching security mode the dialogs are english and any length of password is accepted.
If you switch security mode from within VollaLauncher the dialogs are german and the message regarding password length gets displayed

I would consider this a bug in trebuchet. Requiring 4+ characters/numbers makes sense and trebuchet should not allow 1 character passwords. Just the error message in Volla launcher needs to be adjusted.

trebuchet and all other launchers do not "know" anything about the security mode.
You can only use the quick setting tiles for this purpose.
You can use them with VollaLauncher also.
