Your Pack Version

2.7.2

Your Proposal

Add a way for the packager to craft tiny and small dust piles from regular dust piles. I actually think it's astonishing this isn't a feature in base GregTech, let alone GTNH.

(I figure, it makes more sense that you're packaging piles of dust of a specific size, than un-packaging one big pile of dust.)

Your Goal

The only real option for this is setting up a crafting recipe, and they're not ideal. Molecular assemblers are slow, but most importantly there's no way of automating this process without making individual recipes. You don't need a lot, but with the Gluon Plasma automation there's a really elegant solution that becomes way more convoluted because there's no way of crafting tiny dust without a ton of needless, uninteresting effort.

Example use case is that I want to keep tiny dusts in stock by stocking a machine with full-sized dust. Currently you have to make a recipe for each dust you want tiny piles of, and use like a level maintainer to keep the dusts stocked. Or the janky as hell crafting cards, which also still need a recipe for each.

Your Vision

Tiny dusts are specifically used in various recipes, and there's no good way of automatically crafting them without crafting each one manually. Unless I'm missing something along with asking folks in the discord, it doesn't seem like there's a way to do this with what's in the pack already.

Final Checklist

  • I have searched this issue tracker and there is nothing similar already. Posting on a closed issue saying I like this feature please reconsider adding it will prompt us to investigate and reopen it once we confirm your report.
  • I believe there is nothing similar in the pack already, or the existing solution isn't good enough.
  • I understand this change request may not attract enough attention and thus not be implemented.
  • I understand this change request may be rejected due to other community members thinking it's inappropriate.
  • I believe this feature would make the pack better.
