Describe the bug

  1. Play a video
  2. Disconnect your internet while the video plays

If you are playing a video and the internet connection disconnects (I tested on Ethernet) the player pauses (and shows a spinner), the application becomes not clickable and the memory usage for the process continues to increase (noticed in Windows Task Manager).

high memory use

Expected Behavior

No memory increase and player continues to be responsive and allows for the video to resumed when the internet becomes available.
