A number of people have requested a 'next best character' features similar to the magic wand on LUCID.

The 'magic wand' uses an algorithm to identify the 'next best character' defined by the character which on average will eliminate the most taxa. This equates to characters which split the remaining taxa as close to 50:50 as possible. Other characters may eliminate more, but only for rarer character states. Next best characters only represent suggestions - user is free to ignore them.
